Rosewood Hotels & Resorts‘ new Rosewood Red Sea resort will debut in 2023 on Shura Island in Saudi Arabia. The hotel will be part of the initial phase of the sprawling The Red Sea development, which will encompass 22 islands and five inland sites when fully built out in 2030.

The hotel will include 149 guest rooms and suites, three restaurants, two lounges, a Manor Club, Asaya spa and fitness center.

Located on Saudi Arabia’s west coast, The Red Sea development is expected to become one of the country’s top cultural and lifestyle destinations — part of a $1 trillion plan to boost tourism in the Middle Eastern nation. The development will include multiple hotels and residences, a yacht club, 18-hole championship golf course, and extensive dining and shopping outlets. It will be served by the new Red Sea International Airport, set to open later this year.

“It is our great pleasure to announce our expansion in the Middle East, adding Rosewood Red Sea to Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning cultural movement,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group, in a press statement. “Rosewood’s presence in The Red Sea destination will mark a transformational time for the brand as the project looks to set new standards in sustainable development and support Saudi Arabia emerge as a top global tourism destination.

John Pagano, CEO at The Red Sea Development Company, said that Rosewood’s “philosophy to reflect the local culture and spirit of a destination in its offering will tempt visitors to explore the rich heritage and unsurpassed natural beauty of this undiscovered, unique region.”
