Frontier Airlines has announced two new nonstop flights from Miami and Orlando to St. Martin.

Orlando will be a new gateway for St. Martin, which opens up opportunities into the markets of Atlanta, Denver, Philadelphia, Newark and Baltimore.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new flights took place on July 10 at the Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Martin, and was attended by the first vice president of the French St. Martin Territorial Council and president of St. Martin’s Tourist Office, as well as the Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunication of Sint Maarten.

“We are delighted that Frontier Airlines has added two new services to our friendly island. The new launch will help us expand our presence in key regions in Florida, in both Miami and Orlando. We will continue to work diligently in order to maintain St. Martin as one of the most sought-after Caribbean destinations to visit,” said Aida Weinum, director of the St. Martin Tourist Office, in a press release statement. “With high demand travel to the Caribbean, we thank and welcome visitors, honeymooners, and any beach lovers to fly Frontier Airlines as they visit the tropical paradise of St. Martin.”

The new Miami and Orlando flights are now operating weekly on Saturdays, and St. Martin hopes that the new airlift will attract international visitors seeking to combine Florida with a Caribbean experience.
