Time to call up the adventurous cycling enthusiasts on your client list. Grasshopper Adventures has unveiled a new bike tour exploring the Yunnan Province of China.

On this 14-day journey, guests will cycle through the ancient towns of the Tea Horse Trail, a network of caravan paths winding through mountains from Shangri-La to Tiger Leaping Gorge and eventually to Lijiang. The tour covers approximately 317 miles and is set to depart on June 10, 2019.

“Our guests will ride through one of the highest gorges in the world, carved out over millennia by the Yangtze River and surrounded by the dramatic Jade Dragon and Haba Snow Mountains,” said Grasshopper Adventures president Adam Platt-Hepworth in press materials. “Along the way, they’ll encounter ancient villages with captivating rituals and traditions seemingly unchanged by the test of time.”

Highlights of the itinerary include visiting the world’s largest prayer wheel and the Songzanlin Monastery; riding through Tiger Leaping Gorge; discovering the ancient Bai Kingdom city of Dali; exploring the backstreets of Lijiang; touring Jian Chuan with its canals and bridge; plus cycling to the historic town of Shaxi.
