In 2020, guests traveling on select Insight Vacations journeys through Germany and Italy will have the once-in-a-decade chance to experience a performance of The Passion Play.
This world-famous performance, based on the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, happens once every 10 years in the town of Oberammergau. Tickets are already on sale, and guests traveling with Insight Vacations will get premium reserved seating at the show. The show will run from May to October, and performed five days a week in an open-air theatre. The performance consists of 16 acts, and lasts about five and a half hours; all participants including actors and choir members were born in Oberammergau or have lived there for at least 20 years, according to the local law.
Travelers on any of the following Insight Vacation itineraries will get to enjoy a performance of the Passion Play: County Roads of Bavaria, Switzerland and Austria; Best of Germany; Italian Elegance; Road to Rome; and Easy Pace Italy.
