Winter 2017-2018 is finally over, but American Airlines is already looking ahead to the upcoming winter season, announcing plans to increase flight options to the Caribbean just in time for a warm-weather getaway in December.
Starting Dec. 19, 2018, American Airlines will increase the daily frequency of existing routes between Miami and seven Caribbean destinations. These destinations include: Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados; Curacao International Airport; Grand Bahama International Airport in Freeport, The Bahamas; Gregorio Luperon International Airport in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Piarco International Airport in Trinidad and Tobago; and Hewanorra International Airport in Saint Lucia. American Airlines will also become the first U.S. carrier to serve St. Vincent and the Grenadines with the introduction of year-round Saturday service from Miami starting on Dec. 22, 2018.
Travelers looking to fly to the Caribbean from Chicago will also see an increase in flight options this upcoming winter with American Airlines adding four new routes to: Queen Beatrix International Airport in Aruba; Owen Roberts International Airport in the Cayman Islands; Lynden Pindling International Airport in Freeport; and Providenciales International Airport in Turks and Caicos. These flights will be available on Saturdays starting Dec. 22, 2018. Beginning Dec. 19, a new winter seasonal nonstop service to Honolulu from O’Hare will also be added.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport will also see new routes to the Caribbean with the addition of flights to Eleuthera and Marsh Harbor in The Bahamas, while American Airlines will also offer new flight service to Aruba from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
