El Salvador’s coffee-growing towns, colonial heritage, volcanoes and archaeological sites are at the top of the list on Sunny Land Tours’ Essence of El Salvador FAM, available daily through November 2028.
Priced at $1,299 per person, the 6-day FAM combines cultural sightseeing with some of El Salvador’s most notable natural and archaeological attractions.
What’s on the Itinerary
One full day focuses on the Ruta de las Flores, a scenic region in western El Salvador known for its coffee culture, cooler climate, artisan traditions and colorful towns. Advisors will visit Nahuizalco, Salcoatitan, Juayua, Apaneca, Concepcion de Ataco and Ahuachapan, with opportunities to experience local markets, crafts, food and coffee culture.
Another day combines Suchitoto and San Salvador. In Suchitoto, advisors will explore the historic former capital’s cobblestone streets, Santa Lucia Church and views of Lake Suchitlan. The tour then continues to San Salvador’s historic center, including Gerardo Barrios, Libertad and Morazan plazas, before a panoramic look at other areas of the capital.
The final touring day heads into El Salvador’s volcanic landscape, including Cerro Verde, where a guided walk along the eco-trails offers views of Izalco and Santa Ana volcanoes. The itinerary also includes sightseeing at Lake Coatepeque before continuing to two important archaeological sites: Joya de Ceren, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the “Pompeii of the Americas,” and the ruins of San Andres.
What’s Included
The $1,299 per-person rate includes five-star hotel accommodations in San Salvador, airport transfers, three full days of touring, bilingual guide services, daily continental breakfast, private transportation, admission fees to included attractions and local taxes.
International airfare to San Salvador, meals not specifically listed, tips and personal expenses are not included.
The FAM is open to travel agent employees, affiliated independent contractors, travel writers and bloggers. Advisors can qualify with an IATAN, CLIA or TRUE ID; agents without an ID card can provide a letter signed by an agency owner or manager. Home-based advisors are eligible, while travel writers and bloggers should provide professional profiles and affiliations.
The FAM requires a $400-per-person nonrefundable deposit to book, with full payment due 60 days before departure. A single supplement is $480, while companions are welcome, with up to three guests permitted at a $280 companion supplement.
