Nashville is getting two new attractions dedicated to one of its most famous musical icons. Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum officially open on Sept. 29, giving travelers a new way to experience Parton’s music, career and personal story in the heart of Music City.
Created in partnership with Dolly Parton and Herschend, SongTeller Hotel features 245 guestrooms and suites, two live entertainment venues, a cafe and spaces inspired by Parton’s career and Nashville’s music culture.
Music at the Heart of SongTeller
Music takes center stage at the hotel. Jolene’s, located on the top floor, will host nightly performances from emerging Nashville singers and songwriters. On the second floor, Parton’s Live will offer a more intimate look at Nashville’s songwriting scene through writers’ rounds, songwriter sessions and showcases featuring rising artists.
The hotel will also house Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum across its entire third floor. Covering more than 20,000 square feet, the museum traces Parton’s journey from her childhood in the Great Smoky Mountains through her rise to global fame, combining personal stories, multimedia installations, interactive exhibits and pieces from her collection.
Adding an especially personal touch, Parton herself will guide visitors through the museum experience, using footage filmed earlier this year. The journey begins with a recreation of the small cabin where she grew up before moving through the people, places and moments that shaped her life and career. The museum also features two retail stores offering official Dolly Parton merchandise and exclusive collections.
Live Entertainment From the Start
The SongTeller Hotel’s entertainment programming begins even before the official Sept. 29 opening. Guest reservations open Sept. 14, with a lineup that includes Parton family members and emerging artists.
Parton’s cousin Richie Owens is scheduled to perform at Parton’s Live on Sept. 16, while her niece Jada Star begins a twice-weekly artist residency on Sept. 17 and 19.
The hotel is also partnering with FEMcountry, a platform founded by music-industry executive Leslie Fram, to bring established female artists and songwriters to Parton’s Live for monthly performances.
SongTeller Hotel is part of a longstanding partnership between Parton and Herschend, which also operates Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
