The Travel Institute Offers Tuition Savings for New Advisors

The Travel Institute is offering a tuition assistance of $100, representing nearly 23 percent savings, for its TRIPKIT new advisor training program during its annual TRIP of a Lifetime fall campaign.

“Starting a career in travel is rewarding but it can also be overwhelming,” said Guida Botelho, CTIE, senior director of education for The Travel Institute, in a press statement. “With so much to know in our complex, ever-evolving industry and with so many training options available, TRIPKIT remains the go-to, trusted source for industry newcomers wanting to become truly job ready,” Botelho continued.

The Travel Institute: Advisor Training is Tops

TRIPKIT is a self-paced program designed to enhance learning through various support and engagement tools. These include expert-led insider sessions, an online guided curriculum, on-demand coaching, recurring quizzes and automated “just-in-time” communications tailored to individual progress. The program culminates in the industry-recognized TAP Test, which assesses career readiness.

As the leading education provider in an industry without mandated training, The Travel Institute operates as an independent, non-profit organization committed to delivering accessible, high-quality education at low or no cost to professionals at all career stages. TRIPKIT serves as the entry point for this educational pathway. Data from The Travel Institute’s 2023 Changing Face of Travel Agents survey highlighted concerns about workforce experience, noting that 36 percent of travel agencies lost experienced staff during the pandemic and 66 percent of advisors planned to retire soon. A 2024 TRAVELSAVERS survey further revealed that while 69 percent of agencies intended to hire, only 7 percent expected qualified candidates to be readily available. These findings underscore ongoing industry challenges in developing new talent.

TRIPKIT is utilized by individuals studying independently, agency owners and managers training new staff and post-secondary vocational institutions offering travel-related curricula. Enrollment in TRIPKIT has grown significantly, with a 51 percent increase over the past two years and an average 20 percent year-over-year growth since 2021, aligning with rising numbers of industry newcomers.

Graduates who pass the TAP Test are listed on The Travel Institute website, and those seeking employment can be found on the Hire Me platform, supporting both new advisors and agencies looking for qualified talent. Tuition assistance for TRIPKIT is available throughout October and is open to both newcomers and less experienced advisors. Additional information and enrollment options can be found on the TRIPKIT website, along with webinars focused on careers in travel.
