ALG Vacations (ALGV) has announced its newest professional development initiative: The ALGVPro Social Media Courses. The courses provide travel advisors with specialized training designed to enhance their online presence across major social platforms.

Launched in Milwaukee this week, this elective training series addresses the growing need for digital marketing expertise in the travel advisory sector. The program emerged following exceptional interest in ALGV’s initial social media webinar in 2023, which attracted more than 1,300 participants—a clear indication of advisors’ eagerness to strengthen their digital capabilities.

The decision to develop these courses was further validated by ALGV’s own social media success story. After launching its TikTok channel in July 2022, the company amassed an impressive 100,000 followers by November 2023. This rapid growth demonstrated the effectiveness of strategic social media management in the travel industry, providing a solid foundation for the training program’s methodology.

The comprehensive curriculum features three distinct platform-specific courses covering Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Each self-paced program guides advisors through a structured learning path consisting of three essential modules. The first module addresses profile setup and optimization, covering platform selection strategies, profile best practices, business account advantages and specialized tools for presenting travel offerings.

In the second module, advisors learn advanced content creation techniques, including format variations such as Reels, Stories and Carousels. The training covers platform-specific editing tools, effective hashtag implementation, SEO optimization for increased visibility and posting schedules that maximize engagement opportunities.

The final module focuses on audience development and conversion strategies. Advisors receive instruction on building community through interactive communication, utilizing engagement features like polls and stickers, developing effective lead generation techniques and analyzing performance metrics to refine their approach.

These new courses integrate seamlessly into the existing ALGVPro certification framework as optional electives, allowing advisors to enhance their digital marketing skills without affecting their core certification status.
