Food is an integral part of travel, and these three distinct culinary experiences make these getaways as unique as the destinations themselves.

New Culinary Experience at Viceroy Los Cabos

Already a star on Mexico’s map of gourmet go-to’s, the Baja’s Viceroy Los Cabos has debuted another feather in its culinary cap: Awacate, a casual eatery with Mexican dishes with the added twist of Baja street-style influences. The restaurant itself is in line with the striking architecture of the resort, complete with a mural by regional artist Fernando “Lelo” Juarez. Its open-air patio makes the most of the area’s stellar weather, where your clients can enjoy dishes like local oysters, al pastor-style fish and fresh, garlicky octopus. The mixology is up to par with the chef’s creations, meaning it’s a combination of hand-crafted cocktails using exclusively Mexican spirits plus a selection of regional wines. Live music adds an extra layer of enjoyment.

Viceroy Los Cabos’ rooftop Cielomar.

Awacate joins the unique Nido, which means “nest” in Spanish; Nidito, or “little nest,” serving light bites and cocktails beach and poolside; Casero in the lobby (which means “home made”); Otro Bar, or “another bar,” with its Tequila Library; and the rooftop bar and lounge Cielomar, which serves up its namesake view of sky and ocean with weekly entertainment.

Belmond: Culinary Updates & More

White glove dining aboard the revamped Eastern & Oriental Express.

Lots of newsy items from luxury purveyor Belmond. For the champagne connoisseurs on your client list, the Eastern & Oriental Express has teamed up with Veuve Clicquot for a bespoke Solaire Journey by rail that will take them through Malaysia and an exploration of the 130-million-year-old Taman Negara National Park. This is, of course, a journey where culinary excellence meets one of the world’s finest bubblies, so they will have access to Veuve Clicquot’s Cellar Master, Didier Mariotti, to lead the champagne tastings, as well as the train’s Culinary Master, two-Michelin star chef Andre Chiang. The latter will be designing a bespoke menu to pair with the libation’s finest vintages, including the La Grande Dame series.

The Eastern & Oriental Express has been revamped and now has eight sleepers, two restaurants, a Piano Bar and an open-air Observation Car. All cabins are air-conditioned, with decor inspired by the area’s landscapes. The Pullmans are inspired by Kuala Lumpur, the State cabins pull their palette from Penang’s marine environs, and the Presidential Suites are all gold and embroidered elements. New in-cabin experiences are customizable and use scents, lights, playlists, premium bedding and teas.

This 3-night champagne experience runs from April 22-25, 2024.
