Summer just isn’t summer without camping, and if you want to sleep under the stars they might as well be big, beautiful Bahamian ones. Atlantis Paradise Island is offering a new Marine Life Camping Adventure, now through Aug. 27, 2022, where guests can camp out in luxurious beachside tents and get up close and personal with the local marine life.

The Marine Life Camping Adventure features a jam-packed day full of V.I.P. marine activities, including a chance to meet a baby sea turtle and behind-the-scenes tours of Dolphin Cay—a marine mammal habitat and animal rehabilitation center that is home to dolphins and sea lions displaced by Hurricane Katrina—and of The Royal Towers Fish Hospital, Rehab Center and Fish Kitchen. The adventure also includes kayaking with dolphins and twilight snorkeling in The Ruins Lagoon—a 2.7 million gallon lagoon filled with artifacts inspired by the ancient lost city of Atlantis as well as jacks, snappers, spiny lobsters and 20,000 deep reef and pelagic fish. And after a long day of adventuring, guests can watch movies, play games and roast marshmallows on a campfire back at their campsite.

Accommodation for the night is a climate-controlled tent pitched along the beach near the Dolphin Cay habitat. The canvas tents feature couches, cushioned cots made up with bedding from the resort, Adirondack chairs, coffee pots, tea kettles, snack baskets and mini fridges filled with water. Alcoholic beverages and light bites can be added to the package. Bathrooms, shower facilities and outdoor showers are adjacent to the camp sites.

Prices for the Marine Life Camping Adventure start at $4,000 per night for a 4-person tent and $6,000 per night for a 6-person tent. Children must be 6-years-old or older to participate in the overnight adventure and a reservation at Atlantis is required to book this adventure. A portion of the proceeds goes to the non-profit Atlantis Blue Project Foundation, which works to save sea species and their habits in The Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean.

Bookings can be made online here or by calling 1-800-ATLANTIS.
