The new Club Med Magna Marbella, which opened this week, represents the all-inclusive chain’s return to Spain after a two decade absence. Club Med was founded in the Balearic Islands in 1950.
The four-star, family friendly resort opened to guests on May 20. The 35-acre property features views of the Mediterranean Sea and is surrounded by the Sierra Blanca mountains. The city of Marbella is nearby.
Mixing traditional and modern architecture and design, the Club Med Magna Marbella resort has an indoor-outdoor concept and decor inspired by Marbella’s art, culture and nature. The resort’s 485 guest rooms include deluxe, superior, and family suites. Two restaurants – Suenos and the Tierra Gourmet Lounge — and three bars showcase local food and drink, including Spanish wine and tapas.
Resort activities include yoga, aerial fitness, golf, trapeze, archery, beach volleyball and paddle tennis. Among the resort’s five pools are an indoor freshwater pool, lagoon pool, an adults-exclusive Zen pool, kids pool, and a family-friendly water park area. The Club Med Spa by CINQ MONDES has a steam room, 14 treatment rooms, and an indoor-outdoor relaxation room.
Plenty of fun for kids
The children’s clubs at the Club Med Magna Marbella offers activities for kids from 4 months to 17 years old, including a weekly roster of Club Med Amazing Family programs. Examples include paddle tennis tournaments, a stroll through the Pueblos Blancos, an Andalusian garden party, and a day at the Family Fun Zone park, which has water slides, a mini-golf course and a zipline.
