Off the Map Travel introduced a new tour of Iceland including panoramic vistas from accommodations in a glass lodge. The 4-day Panorama Glass Lodge Escape is set in the country’s Southern highlands, just 1.5 hours from Reykjavik, and features the lodges in a first-ever, privately guided program.
Available year-round, the luxury tour includes two nights in one of four eco-friendly glass-fronted lodges, allowing for views of the Northern Lights or the midnight sun, plus a tour of Southern Iceland via private jeep with a private guide. With its glass luxury accommodations, the Panorama Glass Lodge Escape offers a distinctive full-time outdoor experience, bringing the outdoor views indoors with panoramic views of the arctic tundra, the Hekla volcano, and crystal-clear rivers.
Each lodge is named after Norse mythology characters and sleeps two guests with a custom-made, king-sized bed and includes a fully equipped kitchen with basic provisions, an en suite bathroom with a rain head shower, and sustainable toiletries from Iceland’s SOLEY organics. Lodges are heated with sustainable electricity, always maintaining a cozy interior no matter what the weather. Guests also have access to a private sauna and hot tub where they can relax and unwind, surrounded by nature. The nearby spring supplies the lodges with fresh water.
Leaving from Reykjavik’s Keflavik Airport, a luxury jeep transports participants on a guided visit to the famous Golden Circle visiting Thingvellir National Park, The Geysir Geothermal Area and Gullfoss Waterfall. Over the course of the 4-day experience, guests will also visit ice caves on the South Coast, have a snowmobile adventure at a glacier, take a dip in the Blue Lagoon, and explore Iceland’s capital city Reykjavik.
“These lodges are the epitome of escapism. The area is remote, meaning there is no light pollution so it is the perfect spot for star gazing and appreciating the incredible midnight sun in summer and northern lights in winter,” says Jonny Cooper, founder of Off the Map Travel, in a press statement. “This is the first time the lodges have been included in a travel experience that brings together everything the guest needs from transfers to locally guided activities.”
The 4-day, 3-night Panorama Glass Lodge Escape itinerary is priced from $4,225 pp, on a self-catering basis, based on two people traveling. Included are privately guided tours in a luxury jeep throughout, two nights in luxury panoramic accommodation, one night’s hotel accommodation in Reykjavik, and all activities with private guides who can tailor the itinerary based on the weather and time of year. Flights are additional.
Visitors can choose to extend their trip with additional nights at the lodge or by adding a city break.
