As would-be travelers stay at home to slow the spread of COVID-19, Imagen de Chile, the nonprofit country brand organization for the country of Chile, has developed a free app for people to remotely discover the country’s attractions and get ready for future travel.
The app, called “Chile 360º”, is available for iPhone and Android, and lets users explore the majestic Torres del Paine, the Atacama Desert, the mysteries of Easter Island, and many other attractions from the safety and comfort of their home by using their mobile device or VR glasses.
Additionally, numerous museums such as the National Historic Museum of Chile are offering virtual tours; and given that Chile is the epicenter for astronomy and observatories in Latin America, there is a virtual tour available of the Santiago, Chile observatory provided by the European Southern Observatory website, the foremost intergovernmental astronomy organization in Europe.
