The St. Regis Bangkok has announced the first Thai boxing ring inside a five-star hotel, accompanied by a new wellness program that taps into the popularity of Thailand’s traditional sport.

The boxing ring is located inside the hotel’s Wellness Center and has been designed to provide a safe and authentic training experience, with padded floors, ropes and corners. Lessons in Thai boxing (Muay Thai) are offered by instructor Boonsanong Borchae, or Coach Jack as he is referred to by students, who guides participants on the traditions, rituals and customs of the sport. Complimentary equipment is provided, including fitted gloves and kneepads, along with water and fresh towels. The Wellness Center also features an array of TechnoGym ellipticals, treadmills and stationary bikes; free weights; TRX suspension trainers; exercise mats and foam rollers.

“Thai boxing is the national sport of Thailand and has grown in popularity around the globe,” said Marta Martin, hotel manager of the St. Regis Bangkok, in press materials. “Coach Jack, who also privately trains local celebrities, brings more than 15 years of Thai boxing expertise to the hotel and holds a degree in Sport Science.”

Thai boxing training sessions are $44 per hour plus taxes for guests staying at the St. Regis Bangkok, or $63 per hour plus taxes for non-guests.

To complement the Thai Boxing sessions, the hotel has also added several other wellness programs. For example, the Total Wellness Dining Program offers a nutritional consultation with executive chef Chris Miller, who will create a customized meal program for guests to follow during their stay. Categories are Muscle Builder, Refuel, and Calorie Watch, with pricing dependent on the number of meals chosen. Meanwhile, the Fit & Go at ELEMIS Spa program offers a full-body workout to tone and shape the body, increasing endurance and achieving a deep muscle workout. F-EMS training simultaneously works 350 muscles to burn more than 1,000 calories in 25 minutes. The package includes a 30-minute F-EMS session and is offered for $78 plus taxes.
