Imagine the moment you arrive in a destination with the anticipation of discovering something new. Aboard the new World Traveller, now sailing her inaugural season, you’ll experience that sensation of exploring beyond the boundaries as you embark on an exhilarating Polar Expedition. Come closer to natural wonders where you can discover incredible wildlife and landscapes of the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords, Iceland and Greenland. Experience the adventure of a lifetime, where every expedition feels like an extraordinary, personally curated journey shared with fewer than 200 fellow explorers.

Exploring the Svalbard Archipelago

Cross into the Arctic Circle as you explore the Svalbard archipelago, a virtually untouched land that remains one of the most unexplored regions of the world, guided by an expert expedition team on shore landings and Zodiac safaris. Your captain will navigate remote and hidden landings to find the best spots for wildlife viewing and exploration.

As your boots touch down on pebbled shores, keep an eye out for a variety of animals, from reindeer to newly born Arctic fox litters in their soft, brown fur. With most of the ice melted in the summer, you’re more likely to set eyes on the King of the Arctic, the polar bear. In the water, look out for the bearded seal, belugas, narwhals, humpback whales, the Atlantic walrus and more.

Every Arctic expedition of Svalbard starts in Longyearbyen, a landscape of steep mountains and glaciers. As you journey through awe-inspiring scenes of these isolated lands, you may make a landing in Ny-Ålesund. Nearby lies the Ossian Sars Nature Reserve that will inspire a deep sense of exhilarating exploration.

Discover Small Villages

Aboard World Traveller, it’s easier to reach remote, small villages like Leknes and Ittoqqortoormiit. The small fishing town of Leknes contains a surprising wine scene, as well as authentic wooden crafts, hand-spun textiles and paintings to take home.

With the surrounding sea frozen for nine months of the year, the village of Ittoqqortoormiit rarely receives visitors. But its location within Scoresby Sound and its colorful houses makes it a charming scene.

Immerse Into Culture

Delve deep into Norwegian history and culture in Hammerfest. It’s the world’s northernmost town, where you can claim membership to the exclusive Royal and Ancient Polar Bear Society.
