Swan Hellenic Launches New Ship Vega in Arctic

The new Swan Hellenic expedition cruise ship Vega will spend her maiden season exploring the Arctic.

Set to launch ahead of schedule in July, the Vega will roam from the Svalbard Peninsula to Iceland, Greenland, the Northwest Passage and Northern Canada.

Clients can be among the first to sail on Vega and save money, too. Swan Hellenic’s Arctic Summer Season ’22 Sale includes savings of up to 70 percent off brochure fares. Bookings must be completed before June 20, 2022.

Plus, Swan Hellenic is offering 20 percent commissions on all new bookings. In addition, travel advisors will receive a $250 per guest commission bonus.

Voyages on Vega start at $4,688 per person and range from nine to 20 days.

“We’re excited to launch this special celebration of our new purpose-built ice-class ship, which makes her extraordinary maiden cruises uniquely accessible and irresistible,” said Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito in a press release. “We look forward to boosting our sales partners revenues and spirits in a challenging period, attracting new curious-minded adventurers to experience the Swan Hellenic difference.”

The two Swan Hellenic polar exploration ships, Minerva and Vega, have ice-strengthened hulls and accommodate up to 152 guests in 76 suites and staterooms. Most staterooms have large balconies; all have Scandinavian inspired interiors.

Both ships arrived in July 2022. Swan Hellenic’s slightly larger Diana, which accommodates 192 guests in 96 staterooms, will join the fleet this year.

All three ships feature a trio of dining venues: the Swan Restaurant, Club Lounge and Pool Bar & Grill. Itineraries focus on wild landscapes, wildlife, and the people and culture of the world’s less travelled regions. Crew includes expedition guides, expert speakers, and lecturers.
