AIC Hotel Group has announced the promotion of Carilis Felipe to the newly created role of director of field sales, and the promotion of Michelle Farinas to senior weddings department manager.
Felipe joined the company nine years ago as business development manager, and spent her initial years under Ash Tembe’s leadership growing travel agent business in her territories. Six years ago, she was tasked with leading the Weddings Department under Frank Maduro, ultimately growing AIC Hotel Group’s wedding business for North America and increasing revenue for the company. Having spent her latest tenure as director of weddings, Carilis also successfully developed the award-winning WOW and Ishq Rocks WOW Specialist program for the all-inclusive weddings segment.
In her new role as director of field sales, Felipe will lead a team of six regional directors of business development and 11 business development managers in the U.S. and Canada to achieve sales targets. Felipe will report directly to Tembe, v.p. of sales.

In addition, Michelle Farinas is assuming the role of senior weddings department manager at AIC Hotel Group. Eight years ago, Michelle joined the company as a wedding sales coordinator, converting countless leads into hard bookings, and significantly contributing towards the company’s revenue stream. Her positive attitude, hard work and dedication landed her in a managerial position within the department as she continued to work under Felipe to develop the weddings business.
In her new role, Farinas will oversee a dedicated sales team of 11, with the goal of growing the weddings and events business within the company. Farinas will report directly to Maduro, v.p. of marketing.
