Israel hosted the 2025 International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) Conference at the Expo TLV Center in early May. The event brought together 29 tour operators, tourism executives, and journalists from nine countries for a week of educational sessions and site exploration. Organized by the Israel Ministry of Tourism, the initiative aimed to highlight the country’s tourism offerings and support ongoing efforts to promote Israel as a global travel destination.
“We were delighted to see so many people gather in Israel for the IMTM conference in Tel Aviv last week,” said Yoram Elgrabli, North America Tourism Commissioner, Israel Ministry of Tourism, in a media statement. “Through initiatives like these, we’re proud to have the opportunity to showcase Israel’s tourism industry and raise awareness for the cultural, historical and enlightening vacation that travelers can expect to experience when visiting.”
In addition to the conference, the Israel Ministry of Tourism took 24 travel advisors on a journey across Israel to experience its sites, flavors, culture and people. Advisors learned firsthand the recovery efforts being made to the tourism industry while visiting key sites including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, New National Library, Garden Tomb, Western Wall Tunnels, Machne Yehuda Market and more.
What Advisors are Saying About the Experience
Sarah Weiss, Travel Advisor with Altitude Travel, said: “My time in Israel has been absolutely amazing. From the moment I got off the plane I felt absolutely safe and have loved the experience so far. After this incredible experience, I definitely will be bringing my clients to Israel and I’ve already had some people reaching out and hope to be able to bring a group over.”
Michelle Hammock, CEO & Founder of Hammock Expeditions and STEM Study Tours, said: “I am literally blown away. I’m over the moon with all of the things I’m not only learning but experiencing and seeing. I can’t wait to get back to my clients. I’ve tried to take so many videos and pictures so I can try and convey that Israel is just really special. I have been wanting to come to Israel and to bring tours to Israel for many years, and now I’m at the point where I’m going to put it together because if my clients see what I see, they’ll come.”
Jeramy Rulo, Travel Advisor with Three Rivers Travel and Events, said: “Every single place we’ve experienced while here in Israel has been absolutely fantastic. Everywhere you turn, there is always a constant, beautiful landscape and incredible history. If you are a member of the Christian faith, such as I am, come here to Israel. That’s why I primarily came over, to bring Faith-based tours to the country.”
