On our road trip from Miami to Boston, we took a trip through American history, with stops in St. Augustine, Savannah, Richmond, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Charleston. Our “road trip through history” during the week of July 4, had us bouncing around from one historic era to another. Whether taking a stroll through the oldest continually occupied city in the United States—St. Augustine—or standing in awe of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The hotels that welcomed us in these gorgeous destinations proved to be just as stunning as the historic cities they call home: the Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront; the Quirk Hotel in Richmond; Washington, D.C.’s Kimpton Glover Park Hotel; and the Belmond Charleston Place.
