These newly opened high-end getaways are the perfect fit for clients looking to call stylish accommodations their home away from home.

Privileged Oasis
Just a couple of months ago, Ocean Riviera Paradise, an Ocean by H10 Hotels property, threw open its doors in the Riviera Maya. Featuring 974 jr. suites, the hotel is divided into four zones, which cater individually to a variety of guests, including families, couples and those seeking a VIP experience. For those who seek the latter, the resort’s Privilege area features private check-in at the Privilege reception and late check-out up to 2 p.m.; accommodations with exclusive private beach with drink service; a la carte breakfast in the Privilege Lounge or breakfast brought to guestroom; table reservations in the a la carte restaurants; and concierge and butler service. Here, butlers cater to guests’ every whim—packing and unpacking luggage, shoe cleaning, collection of clothes from the laundry and ironing services, and reservations at the Despacio Spa Centre and restaurants.

SLH Newbies
The four hip Colibri Boutique Hotels in Tulum, Mexico are now part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World family. These intimate properties are ideal for clients who want to “get away from it all” with a barefoot chic ambiance and gorgeous surroundings. There’s the 18-room, family-friendly oceanfront El Pez, set atop Turtle Cove, a nature sanctuary, as well as the 14-suite La Zebra, which caters to families and is set for an expansion this year, with the addition of 15 new accommodations, a new massage room, and a new pool and lounge area. For adults-only moments, there’s the 17-room Mi Amor, perched on a rock cliff overlooking the Tulum coast with oceanfront and jungle-facing rooms, a spa, and pool. For true intimacy, the 9-room Mezzanine offers a more funky alternative to other Tulum properties, with a restaurant that focuses on Thai cuisine and a cool party vibe.

Hidden Paradise
Debuting just a couple of months ago in the Riviera Maya, the Andaz Mayakoba Resort, with crystal-clear lagoons, mangroves, gardens, six miles of freshwater canals, and views of the Caribbean Sea, features 214 guestrooms, including 41 luxury suites each with its own intimate plunge pool. Its 10,000-sq.-ft. Naum Spa, housing six treatment rooms that invite the outdoors in, focuses on therapies that incorporate indigenous rituals such as Mayan Time of Reflection and a Mayan Celebration. It also features an interactive apothecary bar replete with all-natural, locally inspired ingredients that have been hand-selected for the resort.

Resort within a Resort
Recently unveiled is Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort’s The Towers at Pacifica, an all-inclusive, adults-only enclave in Cabo San Lucas. The high-end “resort within a resort” retreat features 47 Club Level suites and rooms, with such amenities as British Butler Institute-certified butler service, custom-stocked mini bars and refreshment areas, portable Beats speakers, luxurious Egyptian-cotton bedding, pillow menu and aromatherapy turndown service. There are six pool suites with private plunge pools, as well as the 3,233-sq.-ft. Presidential Suite. The latter offers expansive ocean views, two king bedrooms with their own bathrooms, vanity areas and private terraces equipped with a fire pit, jacuzzi and outdoor shower. For those who love every part of their vacation catered to, the suite also has its own fully equipped kitchen. And those butlers I mentioned earlier? They’ll be there from get-go to arrivederci, providing help during check-in and check-out, handling on- and off-property reservations, unpacking and packing, and accompanying guests on city excursions.

The Collection
Late last year, Grupo Posadas unveiled La Coleccion, a newly envisioned brand, the company says, that “embodies a portfolio of the group’s coveted resorts.” La Coleccion, previously known as Fiesta Americana Resort Collection, includes 12 resorts spread throughout Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Kohunlich in Chetumal, and features a variety of vacation options ranging from family-friendly and adults-only all-inclusive to European plans. The focal point of La Coleccion, said Enrique Calderon, COO for hotel division, Grupo Posadas, in a press statement, is to offer “authentic vacation experiences that celebrate the best of Mexico.” At Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive Adults Only, for example, guests can hang by the infinity pool or explore the waters of the Bay of Banderas, go on a guided kayak tour, or take a full day to relax at the Haixa Spa. While at The Explorean Cozumel, located minutes from Mayan ruins and coral reefs, guests can take daily guided expeditions that include a trek into the jungle, kayaking or snorkeling, exploring the island by bike, or horseback riding.

Unique Twist
At the adults-only, all-inclusive, 448-room UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya—opening next month—guests will have access to the Esencia Beauty bar, where they’ll be able to select their own personalized in-room amenities made with local ingredients; they’ll get to taste specialty cocktails handcrafted by an executive mixologist who infuses local flavors and ingredients into every blend; and they’ll get a chance to access the surrounding area’s hidden gems via exclusively developed local excursions. Perhaps they want to hang at a local tastemakers’ preferred restaurant? Check. Or maybe they’ll want to partake in a pop-up program such as a mezcal tasting? Check. Full moon parties on the beach? Why not? And the wellness center? Your guests will have access to a spa wonderland with 18 luxe cabanas, a plunge pool and hammam, as well as a barbershop equipped with a cocktail cart offering whisky and beer—all part of the Esencia Wellness Center. The UNICO 20°87° experience will encompass all food and beverages, select spa treatments and off-property excursions, plus unlimited golf.

Boutiquey Hiltons
Two boutique-style Hiltons will soon be debuting in Mexico—The Fives Downtown Hotel Playa del Carmen, and 1970 Hotel Posadas Guadalajara, both of which are Curio Collection by Hilton properties (there are a total of nine Hiltons set to debut across the country in the next couple of years). The Playa del Carmen property, slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2017 and located in the destination’s hip Quinta Avenida neighborhood, is a 93-room newbuild that will feature a full-service spa with hydrotherapy treatment, a 1,300-sq.-ft. fitness center, and rooftop infinity pool with deck and DJ booth. The rooftop will also showcase a pool bar and lounge, a restaurant and a signature cocktail bar. The 160-room Guadalajara property, also slated for a late-2017 debut, will be centered around an open-air courtyard lobby, and will have a restaurant, bar, and fitness center. Its hip style will be evident in its decor, which will feature industrial metals and raw wood materials with vivid pops of colors.

Suite Living
A new coastal community is springing up along the Pacific coast of Los Cabos, the 834-acre Rancho San Lucas, which will be home to the Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas Resort, Golf & Spa. The resort’s first phase will debut in December with 70 oceanfront suites in two buildings, including 613-sq.-ft. Grand Studios, 1-bedroom Master Suites, and the 1,496-sq.-ft. Presidential Suite. Guests will also have access to two pools, a fine dining restaurant, a mini water park, kids club, spa cabanas and the like. They’ll also be a myriad of offsite excursions, including deep-sea fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, and sunset boat rides.
