Privileged Oasis
Just a couple of months ago, Ocean Riviera Paradise, an Ocean by H10 Hotels property, threw open its doors in the Riviera Maya. Featuring 974 jr. suites, the hotel is divided into four zones, which cater individually to a variety of guests, including families, couples and those seeking a VIP experience. For those who seek the latter, the resort’s Privilege area features private check-in at the Privilege reception and late check-out up to 2 p.m.; accommodations with exclusive private beach with drink service; a la carte breakfast in the Privilege Lounge or breakfast brought to guestroom; table reservations in the a la carte restaurants; and concierge and butler service. Here, butlers cater to guests’ every whim—packing and unpacking luggage, shoe cleaning, collection of clothes from the laundry and ironing services, and reservations at the Despacio Spa Centre and restaurants. oceanhotels.net

The Collection
Late last year, Grupo Posadas unveiled La Coleccion, a newly envisioned brand, the company says, that “embodies a portfolio of the group’s coveted resorts.” La Coleccion, previously known as Fiesta Americana Resort Collection, includes 12 resorts spread throughout Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Kohunlich in Chetumal, and features a variety of vacation options ranging from family-friendly and adults-only all-inclusive to European plans. The focal point of La Coleccion, said Enrique Calderon, COO for hotel division, Grupo Posadas, in a press statement, is to offer “authentic vacation experiences that celebrate the best of Mexico.” At Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive Adults Only, for example, guests can hang by the infinity pool or explore the waters of the Bay of Banderas, go on a guided kayak tour, or take a full day to relax at the Haixa Spa. While at The Explorean Cozumel, located minutes from Mayan ruins and coral reefs, guests can take daily guided expeditions that include a trek into the jungle, kayaking or snorkeling, exploring the island by bike, or horseback riding. lacoleccionresorts.com

Boutiquey Hiltons
Two boutique-style Hiltons will soon be debuting in Mexico—The Fives Downtown Hotel Playa del Carmen, and 1970 Hotel Posadas Guadalajara, both of which are Curio Collection by Hilton properties (there are a total of nine Hiltons set to debut across the country in the next couple of years). The Playa del Carmen property, slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2017 and located in the destination’s hip Quinta Avenida neighborhood, is a 93-room newbuild that will feature a full-service spa with hydrotherapy treatment, a 1,300-sq.-ft. fitness center, and rooftop infinity pool with deck and DJ booth. The rooftop will also showcase a pool bar and lounge, a restaurant and a signature cocktail bar. The 160-room Guadalajara property, also slated for a late-2017 debut, will be centered around an open-air courtyard lobby, and will have a restaurant, bar, and fitness center. Its hip style will be evident in its decor, which will feature industrial metals and raw wood materials with vivid pops of colors. curiocollection.com
