Marriott is making its first incursion into the branded all-inclusive market by announcing the new Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, which will open in 2024 on the former Marriott Cancun Resort site. This is a first for the brand in Mexico—and the world.

“Travelers will be relieved to discover that they will not be bidding their beloved Marriott Cancun Resort a permanent goodbye, but instead, expecting a very exciting reopening with a more modern product, as the property is being reimagined by Marriott, and utilizing the space to offer a sophisticated twist to the traditional all-inclusive concept,” said Alex Fiz, area v.p. Caribbean & managing director all-inclusive for Marriott International, in a press statement. “Cancun is one of the world’s most exclusive resort destinations, an ideal fit for the first Marriott branded all-inclusive hotel and a future renewed hub for its trusting guests and our Marriott Bonvoy members that look for a wonderful stay in a seamless all-inclusive format.”

Marriott Wants to Redefine All-Inclusive

The brand’s reimagining of its resort takes it into the all-inclusive arena as far as services, and it’s also receiving a top-to-bottom reimagining that includes guestrooms, suites, lobby, meeting spaces and public areas. Plus, your clients will have dedicated “guest relations representatives” on hand to ensure they enjoy their very best vacation life while they’re there. The resort will have new restaurants and bar concepts, pools and—a favorite with guests—a lazy river and a waterpark. Of course, with all that good food, guests will need a state-of-the-art fitness center to stay beach blanket ready, and there will be plenty of day and night entertainment on tap to keep everyone busy.

The resort has been renovating since March of this year, with a re-opening of the hotel as a premium all-inclusive resort slated for early 2024.
