Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation during a 2-week dry dock in Freeport, Bahamas, March 26-April 6. Just in time for the upcoming Europe summer and fall Caribbean seasons, the 3,140-passenger ship will be outfitted with new family-friendly offerings, including the Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Center, upgraded Movies Under the Stars, Princess Luxury Bed and interconnecting staterooms. The ship will also be wired for the Ocean Medallion launch that will be available for the 2018 summer Caribbean season. New Caribbean Princess family-friendly features include:

  • Camp Discovery: This reimagined youth center, part of the cruise line’s Discovery at Sea program, caters to kids ages 3 to 17 with three themed centers, including The Treehouse, (for kids ages 3-7; formerly Pelicans), a bright, whimsical forest and animal-themed center with hands-on activities; The Lodge, ( for ages 8-12; formerly Shockwaves), a cozy center inspired by the great outdoors complete with sports activities and fun places for kids to explore, hang out and lounge; and The Beach House, (for kids ages 13-17; formerly Remix), a contemporary surf-themed lounge, featuring a cool place for teens to hang out and socialize.
  • Youth and Teen Center Programming: New kid-friendly programming includes “MythBusters” science activities with hands-on challenges, featuring the show’s star, Tory Belleci, plus new Camp Discovery destination-themed immersive programs focusing on the culture, nature and customs of Europe and the Caribbean.
  • Interconnected Staterooms and Upgraded Accommodations: In addition to the debut of 87 interconnecting staterooms, Caribbean Princess’ refresh will feature 3,200 new Princess Luxury Beds and luxurious linens, plus Club Class Mini-Suites, the new premium stateroom category featuring VIP amenities and exclusive dining and select perks for guests such as priority embarkation and disembarkation and Club Class Dining, a reserved dining area with expedited seating and expanded menu options.
  • New HD Movies Under the Stars: After renovations, guests will be able to enjoy concerts and hit blockbuster movies in a higher resolution picture with double the image quality of previous systems.

The newly renovated Caribbean Princess will begin her Europe season with a Transatlantic sailing on April 6, continuing throughout the summer in the British Isles. She will then head to the Panama Canal in October before spending the holiday season in the Caribbean. Additionally, for the first time in four years, Princess Cruises will offer 7- to 20-day Summer Caribbean cruises, including Panama Canal transits in 2018.
