United Airlines is moving from seasonal airlift to Barbados to year-round service in response to the increase in demand for travel to the island from key markets in the U.S.
“Initially, United Airline’s service to Barbados was introduced in 2021 to support winter travel for passengers on board the Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas vessel,” said Eusi Skeete, U.S. director for Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., in a press statement.  “However, since then, the appeal has grown significantly, with Barbados continuing to see a distinct rise in visitors from the New Jersey, D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas.”

Details on the United Airlines Expanded Barbados Service

The previous United Airlines schedule was only seasonal, extending from November through April, with service to Newark on Saturdays and Dulles on Sundays. The airlift would now continue year-round starting in September 2023.
The expanded airlift comes right on time for one of the Caribbean’s most awaited events, the Food & Rum festival, slated to take place Oct. 19-22, 2023, in Barbados, the birthplace of rum. Your clients can expect a showcase of up-and-coming chefs alongside already-established experts and mixologists who will put their delicious talent on display during this four-day celebration that takes over the island. Events are held in several locations, so make sure they take their most comfortable clothing to allow for plenty of eating and drinking. Note: Barbados has been perfecting its rum for 350 years, so they will be enjoying the strongest and most refined libation in the Caribbean.
