Tauck is set to launch a new tour in 2025, exploring the musical heritage of the American South. The Music of America: Nashville to New Orleans tour will trace the origins of country music, blues, jazz and rock and roll across Nashville, Memphis, the Mississippi Delta and New Orleans.

This 9-day itinerary, part of Tauck’s Ken Burns American Journeys portfolio, will feature insights from the acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns. Burns, known for his documentaries on American history, has been collaborating with Tauck for 15 years, contributing to over a dozen itineraries.

Tauck Takes You There

The tour begins with a two-night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Nashville and two nights at The Peabody Memphis. Your clients will then spend one night at The Westin Jackson in Mississippi before concluding with a 3-night stay at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans.

Highlights of the tour include a private guided tour and songwriter presentation at Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, followed by a live performance at the Grand Ole Opry. In Memphis, guests will visit Sun Studio and enjoy an exclusive after-hours tour of Graceland. The itinerary also includes a tour of the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and a private jazz performance at Preservation Hall in New Orleans.

The tour explores the region’s culinary traditions with experiences such as a bourbon tasting at the Belle Meade plantation, a cooking demonstration at the New Orleans School of Cooking and dinners at notable restaurants like Tujague’s and Galatoire’s. Additional activities include guided city tours and a visit to the National World War II Museum in New Orleans.

During this tour, your clients will view exclusive vignettes featuring Burns and his collaborator Dayton Duncan throughout the journey. These short videos will provide insights on topics such as the Mississippi River’s role in spreading American music genres and the development of jazz and rock and roll in New Orleans and Memphis.

The tour includes 19 meals, airport transfers, most gratuities, admission fees and taxes. Departures will be offered from March through May and September through October, with some Small Group departures limited to an average of 24 guests.
