According to legend, the Bloody Mary was invented in The St. Regis New York by Fernand Petiot at the King Cole Room in 1934. Since then, the drink has not only become a prime player in brunch menus worldwide—and the subject of entire bars—but it has also become a tradition for the hotel brand. Now, clients visiting the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami will have the opportunity to dive into this iconic tradition with a hands-on mixology workshop.

The St. Regis Bloody Mary Tradition Lives On

The new Bloody Mary Workshop takes clients on a walk down memory lane through the many iterations of this signature cocktail—there is, in fact, an actual book of Bloody Mary recipes from the different St. Regis properties around the world.

Guests will, of course, have the opportunity to learn how to make The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort’s own specialty libation, the Bloody Sunrise. South Florida is known for its spectacular sunrises (and sunsets!), so this drink is inspired by daybreak and the gorgeous colors that peek into guestrooms and suites, all of which look out onto the ocean from their ample terraces.

The St. Regis Bal HarbourThis cocktail can be enjoyed tableside at the indoor/outdoor Altantikós restaurant, where the cart is brought over so they can see the mixologist prepare the drink and finish it off with a citrus and vegetable pincho to add just the right amount of flair and flavor to the glass. The St. Regis Bal Harbour also has copies of the brand’s famous “Bloody Mary Book” on hand should they want to take home a copy to impress their friends back home with their cocktail prowess.

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort is a Five-Diamond property with 213 rooms and suites, including two 4-bedroom Palace Suites and one two-bedroom Presidential Suite, all beachfront on Collins Avenue, just a few minutes from the trendy South Beach Area across from luxury shopping at the Bal Harbour Shops.
