Riviera River Cruises is enhancing support for travel advisors by offering full commission on bookings canceled within 15 days of departure. Although clients who cancel will forfeit their booking costs, advisors will still earn full commission for the Riviera portion of the itinerary. This policy underscores Riviera’s commitment to strengthening its relationships with the travel agency community.

“With this change, travel advisors will no longer lose their commission when a client cancels in the days before their cruise departs,” said Marilyn Conroy, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing North America, in a press statement. “From not selling directly to advisors’ clients to a partnership that assists with flight and hotel arrangements, and incentives like bonus commission and gift cards, it’s another way we at Riviera are dedicated to the agency community.”

Riviera River Cruises Charts Its Own Path

Unique in the European river cruise market, Riviera does not accept direct consumer bookings. Instead, inquiries are directed to travel advisors, or if a consumer lacks an advisor, Riviera connects them with a local partner. This approach ensures that travel advisors remain central to the booking process, reinforcing their role in the travel ecosystem.

Riviera has partnered with Tourcrafters, a subsidiary of Auto Europe, to assist advisors in arranging flights and hotels for North American clients. This collaboration streamlines the booking process and provides comprehensive travel solutions for clients.

Through September, Riviera is running a promotion that benefits advisors and clients. Advisors receive a $100 gift card for each cabin booked, while clients enjoy 100 euros in onboard credit per person. The idea is to boost bookings for the remaining 2024 and 2025 departures.

Riviera River Cruises offers diverse itineraries across Europe’s rivers and waterways. Their offerings include solo traveler departures with no single supplement, themed cruises and holiday season itineraries. Your clients can expect fine dining, a complimentary drinks package and expert-led excursions to iconic sights and lesser-known attractions. The fleet, one of the youngest in Europe, features spacious cabins and suites.
