Royal Caribbean International is not one to rest on its laurels—the line is just over 3 months away from debuting its very first Icon Class ship, Icon of the Seasand it’s already announced the next ship in the series: Star of the Seas. This new addition will debut in the summer of 2025, and it will continue the Icon Class tradition of combining every kind of vacation, from beach retreat to resort escape to theme park adventure.

“The idea of combining the best of every type of vacation into one ultimate adventure has created more excitement than ever anticipated, and Star of the Seas will be the next bold answer to the record-breaking consumer demand we’ve seen for nearly a year and counting with Icon of the Seas,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International, in a press statement.

Royal Caribbean is Vacation Central

Just like Icon of the Seas, the new ship will appeal to just about every traveler on your list. Star of the Seas is currently under construction in Turku, Finland, and details are still under wraps.

Hitting the airwaves with unprecedented vigor is everything about Icon of the Seas, which has already broken booking records without having welcomed a single guest. Royal Caribbean has, in fact, already released 2025-2026 vacation itineraries (3 months ahead of schedule). The massive Icon of the Seas will feature 6 waterslides; 7 pools; a collection of neighborhoods, including Surfside, created just for young families; a plethora of entertainment that will span air, ice, water and stage; 40-plus eateries and watering holes and much, much more.

Accommodations are just as spectacular, with 14 new categories, including the 3-story Ultimate Family Townhouse, complete with its own white picket fence and mailbox, the Family Infinite Balcony and Surfside Family Suite—with kids’ alcoves tucked away from the adults, and for the best views, the brand’s first Sunset Corner Suites and Panoramic Ocean Views in AquaDome are highly recommendable.
