LEGOLAND New York Resort has announced it will open in phases in summer 2021.

Currently under construction in Goshen, New York, 60 miles northwest of New York City, the LEGOLAND New York Resort will be the third in the United States, joining its sister LEGOLAND resorts in California and Florida. The resort is aimed at kids aged 2-12 and their families, and will feature 15,000 LEGO models containing 30 million LEGO bricks.

“As the economy opens up again and people are allowed to travel, one of the key drivers of the American tourism economy is basically people traveling interstate,” said Nick Varney, CEO, Merlin Entertainment, in a press release statement. “And we see that a lot in terms of people traveling interstate down to places like Central Florida, but we also believe there will be a lot of inbound visitation to LEGOLAND New York from states as far away as probably the Midwest.”

The resort will include seven LEGO-themed lands, including Brick Street, where guests arrive and pass under the iconic arch into a world that appears to be made of LEGO bricks. Bricktopia will feature the new LEGO Factory Adventure Ride, exclusive to LEGOLAND New York. The ride will take guests on a journey through a fantastical LEGO factory and transform them into LEGO Minifigures. The LEGO NINJAGO World will teach aspiring ninjas the ancient art of Spinjitzu in its Training Camp, before sending them off on LEGO NINJAGO: The Ride, where they can help defeat the Great Devourer using only their hands.

The LEGO Castle world will feature the Dragon, LEGOLAND’s signature rollercoaster, which is sized to be a child’s first rollercoaster experience. Younger riders can try the Dragon’s Apprentice ride, where they can help a flock of baby dragons learn how to fly. LEGO City will offer a bustling metropolis of Minifigures, and will feature Driving School, one of LEGOLAND Park’s most popular rides. LEGO Pirates will offer water-based fun with Splash Battle, Anchors Away and Rogue Riders attractions; while Miniland – the heart of every LEGOLAND theme park – will feature a massive panorama of animated, interactive LEGO-built cities from across the country. LEGOLAND New York’s Miniland will spotlight New York City, with landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and Yankee Stadium.

The resort will also include a 250-room hotel, and will occupy 150-acres of a more than 500-acre site. A further 150-acres will be permanently preserved to create a natural buffer around the resort, giving guests the experience of a park within a park.
