Explora Journeys is looking to Northern Europe for the inaugural season of Explora I, the first of six ultra-luxury vessels focusing on culinary and immersive experiences. The new ship, which will be officially named this Italy in July before sailing to the UK for a July 17 maiden journey, will have eight sailings within its debut Northern European Inaugural Journeys collection. Bookings are open now, and you can add pre- or post-cruise stays in luxury accommodations.
The collection will include iconic destinations like Edinburgh and Copenhagen mixed in with off-the-beaten-path choices that will make for some unique stories. Of note: Explora Journeys’ shore excursions are built around intimate groups of two to 25 guests maximum.
“When creating our experiences, we first need to understand the very essence of each destination and then focus on unique ways to offer our guests the chance to immerse themselves into the local culture, taste authentic food and discover truly hidden gems,” said Sacha Rougier, the Head of Itinerary Planning and Destination Experiences at Explora Journeys, in a press statement. “Our selected tour operators have been hand-picked and quickly realized that we at Explora Journeys want to clearly differentiate ourselves by offering our guests an extremely wide range of experiences that go to the root of each destination. Under the umbrella of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) we partner with Travelife for Tour Operators, the internationally leading training, management, and certification program for sustainability in tourism.”
