Saxony-Anhalt’s capital city of Magdeburg welcomed more than 1,000 visitors from around the world with a smile for this year’s Germany Travel Mart, held April 17-19. In addition to tasting local cuisine, visiting a medieval-themed Christmas market and taking part in an opening musical reception in the quaint town of Quedlinburg, guests, including myself, were invited to experience the 1,200-year-old city in eastern Germany through culturally enriching activities, including walking tours, bike tours and cultural programs. By the end of the 3-day conference, we were all smiling right back.
