Marvel at the natural wonders of Panama on this curated FAM trip with Tara Tours from Sept. 4–10, 2025.
A City of Contrasts: Old Meets New
Embark on a sightseeing tour of Panama City, starting with Casco Antiguo, the city’s preserved colonial district and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour then shifts to modern-day Panama City, with its skyline and architectural innovation, before heading to the Miraflores Visitor Center at the Panama Canal to experience a partial Panama Canal transit. The boat cruise, which concludes at Flamenco Marina near the Pacific entrance, offers views of the iconic Bridge of the Americas and the Panama City skyline.
Visit Gamboa Rainforest Reserve, set within Soberania National Park, for a tram ride into the treetops for panoramic views of the tropical rainforest and its diverse wildlife. The afternoon includes visits to the reserve’s Orchid Gardens, Serpentarium, butterfly house and reptile and fish exhibits, followed by a tranquil boat expedition across Gatun Lake and the Chagres River.
The FAM also includes a journey to the Embera Village, located deep within the rainforest and is where one of Panama’s seven indigenous tribes resides. Upon arrival, the Embera will greet tourists at the pier and offer you a warm welcome, giving you the chance to learn about their unique way of life. As you explore the village, the Embera women will prepare a traditional snack. You will gain insight into their rich heritage, their art, crafts and the deep connections they have with the land.
