Launched in 2021 and based in Los Angeles, Terra & Tu organizes tours focus equally on adventure and wellness. Having previously worked in both mental health and travel spaces, founder and president Finlay Bressler recognized the value of travel to personal wellbeing, and Terra & Tu was born. The tour company incorporates adventure, exploration, cultural immersion and discovery of the natural beauty of the location into their excursions.
What is the main point of distinction? What makes your tour company different? According to Bressler, Terra & Tu supports the belief that “wellness goes beyond just practicing yoga, eating the latest trendy food or meditating for hours on end. We endorse a broader definition of wellness travel, incorporating yoga and other wellness opportunities into the broader travel experience.” While Terra & Tu tours offer guests ample opportunity to join guided yoga and meditation sessions, much of a participant’s time will be spent on guided tours, hikes and exploration of the culture, including traditional, local wellness and well-being practices.
Types of Tours and What’s Included
Terra & Tu is currently offering an 8-day, maximum 18-guest tour in Tuscany, Italy. Accommodations include a 5-night night stay at their historic, private villa in Tuscany with daily meals from an onsite chef, followed by a 2-night stay at the Terme di Saturnia Resort, a five-star hotel and spa known for its natural hot springs.
Guests will have the opportunity to join guided excursions to historic hilltop towns, vineyards and through the Tuscan countryside, as well as enjoy daily yoga and meditation sessions taught by an on-site instructor. Guests will also have the opportunity to engage in locally-inspired activities including Italian cooking classes and soaking in Saturnia’s renowned hot springs. (At the time of publication, Terra & Tu had availability on their June 24, Sept. 15 and Sept. 21 departures.)
What types of clients do you plan to cater to and what types of clients would feel most comfortable with Terra Tu?
Terra & Tu is not for those clients who may want to spend their days focused entirely on yoga and meditation. Rather, Terra & Tu caters to guests interested in a travel experience that is equal parts wellness and adventure. “Some Terra & Tu guests are die-hard yogis wanting to incorporate their practice into a more expansive, guided adventure. Others are avid travelers looking for a chance to reset and de-stress while exploring the world,” says Bressler. Terra & Tu trips are available to adult travelers, with most clients being aged 30-60 years old.
What new health & safety protocols and procedures are being offered to keep people safe?
All guests must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination no less than two weeks prior to departure. Each guest will also be required to show documentation of a negative PCR test no more than one-day prior to departure, as well as have a rapid test upon arrival. (Note: these protocols are subject to change.)
Can tours be customized for small groups?
Private departures are available upon request and can be modified to fit the individual needs of each group. Terra & Tu itineraries are designed for small groups, consisting of 10-18 travelers.
“We’ve set out to create something that isn’t just another yoga retreat. Terra & Tu aims to provide travelers the chance to relax, reset and, most importantly, rediscover the world. Terra & Tu is travel with a wellness component,” says Bressler. For more information, visit terraandtu.com.
