Princess Cruises has announced a new 14-day Mediterranean and Adriatic cruise featuring a total solar eclipse viewing at sea. This voyage, part of the cruise line’s 2026 Total Solar Eclipse series, will sail aboard the Enchanted Princess, departing from Rome on Aug. 4, 2026.

This addition to Princess Cruises’ eclipse-focused sailings demonstrates the company’s dedication to providing exceptional experiences that blend travel with natural phenomena. The Enchanted Princess joins two other vessels in the series: Sky Princess, departing from Southampton on Aug. 8, 2026, and Sun Princess, offering 7-, 14-, and 21-day itineraries from Barcelona and Athens.

“Adding Enchanted Princess to our 2026 solar eclipse lineup allows more guests to be part of this extraordinary moment at sea while exploring breathtaking Mediterranean and Adriatic destinations,” said Terry Thornton, Princess Cruises’ Chief Commercial Officer, in a press statement. “With limited availability on Sky Princess and Sun Princess, we’re excited to give our guests a new opportunity to be part of this rare astronomical event aboard another of our spectacular ships.”

The cruise’s main attraction will occur on Aug. 12, 2026, when passengers can witness two minutes and 18 seconds of solar eclipse totality from a prime viewing location off the eastern coast of Spain. This rare celestial event promises to be a significant draw for clients interested in astronomy or unique travel experiences.

Beyond the eclipse, the itinerary offers a rich exploration of Southern Europe’s coastal cities. The journey begins and ends in Rome, allowing your clients to explore the Italian capital’s ancient wonders. Other ports of call include Naples, where clients can visit Pompeii’s archaeological site or enjoy the picturesque Amalfi Coast.

The cruise continues to Kotor, Montenegro, a town in a bay that looks like a fjord. It is followed by a stop in Dubrovnik, Croatia, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture. In Greece, the ship will dock at the island of Corfu, where clients can enjoy the beautiful beaches and the charming Old Town.

Sicily features prominently with visits to both Messina and Palermo, offering opportunities to view Mt. Etna or explore baroque architecture and lively markets. The itinerary also includes a stop at Gibraltar, where passengers can take in views across the Strait from its famous Rock.

In Spain, the ship will call at Alicante, a coastal city with a rich heritage, before concluding the Mediterranean portion of the journey in Barcelona, home to distinctive architecture and an iconic cultural scene.

Princess Cruises will enhance the experience with special onboard activities during the solar eclipse. Passengers will gather on the top decks, equipped with eclipse-viewing glasses provided by the cruise line. The event will be complemented by lectures from astronomy experts, themed refreshments, evening stargazing sessions, and solar system trivia contests. Guests are encouraged to bring their own telescopes and wear eclipse-themed attire to fully immerse themselves in the occasion.
