As Greater Miami & the Beaches reopens its hotels, beaches, restaurants, attractions, we know, from market indicators, that the first wave of travelers will be locals, and, as Rolando Aedo, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau’s COO, said during the tourism bureau’s annual Tourism Industry Forum, held virtually this year, the GMCVB’s new “recovery campaign, Miami Shines, to a large extent, will be triggered when hotels open.” The campaign, he went on to say, will be the vehicle to “drive as much hotel demand in as little time as possible.”
The strategy for the campaign is to target—in this order—local, regional and U.S. markets. First month—once hotels reopen—will be to target local Miami visitors and drive markets, including Florida and Georgia, then expanding nationally as appropriate.
With that in mind, hotels across the area are debuting new packages set to entice locals and the drive market. The Love Our Locals promotion can be found at several hotels:
