This Florida Keys Resort Now Welcomes Your Adorable Pups

Have clients heading down to the Florida Keys with their pets in tow? Hawks Cay Resort, in Duck Key, is rolling out the red carpet for the whole family with the launch of the pet-friendly Vacay Pup program.

“Becoming pet-friendly is a significant enhancement for both new and returning guests, transforming Hawks Cay Resort into an even more appealing destination,” said Tiffiany Holmes, resort director, in a press release statement. “With Vacay Pup, we’re not only inviting pets, we’re welcoming an integral part of our guests’ families on vacation. This makes it seamless for drive-in travelers to experience the magic of Hawks Cay with their beloved pets in the paradise of the Florida Keys.”

The Vacay Pup program features a ‘Pup Nap Time’ door sign, in-room dog bowl, pup paradise relief bags, a special Vacay Pup play ball for Very Important Pups (VIPs) and dog beds upon request. Debuting with the program is Pup Paradise Park, a new outdoor area for pups to run and play, featuring pet-protected artificial turf and native shade trees.

The resort’s F&B team has even created a pet-friendly menu that includes items such as roasted pig ears, a “quarter hounder” burger and “dog beer.” They can be found at the pet-friendly dining outlets on property: Marketplace, Angler & Ale and Tiki Beach.

Your Client’s Pets Get a ‘Pup Pass’ in the Florida Keys

When guests register their pets upon check-in, they’ll receive a Pup Pass bandana to be displayed on the pet or tied to the leash. The Pup Pass unlocks access to various resort areas for pets, including Marketplace’s outdoor seating, Pup Paradise Park, Tiki Beach and the outdoor area of Angler & Ale. Pups can relax in a Pup Cabana while enjoying a dog-friendly ‘Bottom Sniffer Dog Beer’ or hop aboard a boat charter with the whole family.

To assist pet owners seamlessly, an assigned Pup Planner is available for travel information, including pup-friendly locations within the Keys, delivery of pet supplies and local service recommendations. As the Vacay Pup program evolves, Hawks Cay Resort plans to introduce additional services and amenities.

Let clients know they’ll have to present their pet’s up-to-date vaccinations and dogs must be leashed at all times. For up to two pets staying seven nights, a nonrefundable fee of $150 per night applies, with an additional $200 nonrefundable cleaning fee for stays exceeding five nights. A portion of this fee is donated to a local shelter in the pet’s name.
