Spirit Airlines is adding new lift to the Florida Keys with the launch of nonstop service between Key West (EYW) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) beginning Nov. 6, 2025. The route will operate four times per week—Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday—before expanding to daily service on Dec. 18, 2025. The new flights will also provide one-stop connectivity from Key West through Spirit’s Fort Lauderdale hub to major U.S. cities.
Key West marks Spirit’s eighth Florida destination, joining Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando, Pensacola, Tampa and West Palm Beach. For advisors, the new service creates additional booking opportunities to a market known for its laid-back atmosphere, nightlife and signature experiences such as diving, snorkeling and boating.
“Key West is a one-of-a-kind beach destination, and now travelers can easily access this island paradise and enjoy Spirit’s elevated guest experience along the way,” said John Kirby, VP of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, in a media statement. “Our new service offers a convenient and affordable alternative to driving and gives our guests in the Florida Keys a new way to coast through South Florida in style.”
Added Richard Strickland, Executive Director of Airports at Key West International Airport, “Spirit Airlines entering the Key West market this November is fantastic news for our passengers near and far. We welcome this addition to our selection of carriers and greatly anticipate access to Spirit’s expansive network of destinations.”
