During this time of need, the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau, with the support of Charlotte County and the City of Punta Gorda, recently announced the launch of a new campaign titled “Charlotte County Tourism: Our Best Side is by Your Side”.
The campaign is an evolution of the destination’s current brand, “Our Best Side is Outside,” and an extension that lends itself to share in the compassion and community commitment that is desperately needed during this difficult time. With a focus on inclusiveness, the campaign also encourages both past and future visitors to stand beside the destination as they dream of brighter days ahead.
A major part of this campaign, is the sale of limited-edition, retro designed Greetings from Pure Florida t-shirts. Specifically designed to support the local hospitality industry, all earnings from every t-shirt sold are going toward the COADFL fund, providing much needed financial support for tourism industry employees and businesses in Charlotte County impacted by the recent shutdowns.
In just one week alone, more than report 444 t-shirts have been sold—and orders haven’t slowed down. In addition, an anonymous donor will be matching all the funds generated from t-shirt sales.
T-shirts are being sold online at BestSideYourSide.com, a micro-site created by the VCB in timing with the campaign that in addition to selling t-shirts, highlights locally owned businesses, including attractions, restaurants, and more, and the great initiatives they’re doing during this time. The new webpage is designed to serve as a source of entertainment and inspiration for tourism partners, local community and future travelers.
