It’s been three long years, but the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival—billed as the biggest and best music event in the Caribbean for three decades—is back and better than ever. Your clients will want to mark their calendars for May 5-14 and prepare them for some of the biggest names in international music, including 17-time Grammy Award winner Sting, who will share the stage with Shaggy on the closing night. Tickets go on sale online on February 15.
“The 2023 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival promises to be the best yet, as we continue our tradition of hosting the Caribbean’s premier jazz and arts event. The Festival will showcase music, the performing arts, fine arts, creole cuisine and the effervescence of Saint Lucia’s creative industries,” said Minister of Tourism, Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire, in a press statement.
More than just jazz, the lineup includes cultural beats and rhythms that include Afro beats, gospel, Soca, reggae, Zouk, pop and much more, attracting visitors from around the world. The performances will be held at Pigeon Island National Park, a striking landmark with stunning views. There will also be other indoor and outdoor events across the island, and accommodations have special packages and offers.
Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival Line-Up
The event kicks off with reggae by superstar Shenseea and Kes the Band on May 5, with entertainment and community jazz May 6-9 during which your clients can immerse themselves in local culture. Wednesday, May 10, is reserved for Kingdom Gospel Night; Thursday is Pure Jazz with Grammy winner Gustavo Casenave; Saturday is World Beats with Rema, Ayra Starr, CKay and Kizz Daniel; and Sunday is The Ultimate Celebration and Culmination on Mother’s Day with Sting and Shaggy.
The festivities, however, start on May 5, with community-based events across Saint Lucia highlighting jazz and the arts. Art in the City will continue from May 7-11 with visual art, literary art, theater, fashion, craft and souvenir markets, an Icon Series and other events held at Derek Walcott Square, William Peter Boulevard, Constitution Park, Pointe Seraphine, and Serenity Park.
