Tara Tours is offering an 8-day Peru FAM to experience the history and culture of this South American destination. You’ll make stops to Lima, the “City of Kings,” and Cuzco, the “Capital of the Inka Empire.” Highlights of the trip also include exploring the Lost City of Machu Picchu and the mysterious Nazca Lines.
Embark on a private tour of Lima with a stop at Huaca Pucllana, a significant archaeological site, followed by a visit to Lima’s Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to explore the Plaza de Armas, which is surrounded by colonial landmarks such as the Government Palace, Cathedral of Lima and the Archbishop’s Palace.

Upon arrival at Cuzco via air, stops include the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, the royal estate of the Inca emperor Pachacuti, and the Temple of the Sun. The FAM continues via rail to Aguas Calientes. The 2-hour train journey passes through river canyons and rolling hills. Upon arrival, you’ll ascent to Machu Picchu for a 2-hour guided walking tour.
The FAM also includes a visit to the Koricancha in Cuzco, once the most important temple in the Inca Empire, known for its gold-covered walls and life-size statues made of gold and silver; the Cusco Cathedral and the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
The Peru FAM includes 7 nights of hotel accommodations with taxes and service charges, daily breakfast, private transfers and tours with entrance fees. A Vistadome train journey and local airfare between Lima and Cuzco are included, along with a tour conductor for groups of 8 agents or more. Travelers will also enjoy private transportation from Lima to Ica, a flight over the Nazca Lines and a shared boat ride to the Ballestas Islands.
Additional perks include tips to porters, guides, drivers and local airport taxes. Meals, insurance, international airfare and other services not listed in the itinerary are excluded.
Prices for travel advisors are $2,680 (per person) and $3,184 for a companion (double occupancy).
