The newly reopened Glacier View Lodge has revealed details of an all-inclusive high alpine experience in Alberta’s Columbia Icefield.
A stay at the premium lodge begins with a welcome reception and evening glacier tour with canapes and cocktails on the ice. Guests then move indoors for a 3-course gourmet dinner featuring locally sourced cuisine at Altitude Restaurant, followed by entertainment and stargazing on the expansive outdoor patio.
The experience concludes with breakfast and private access to the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, a fully accessible, cliff-edge walkway that leads to a glass-floored observation platform extending 918 ft. over the valley.
The lodge reopened June 1, 2019 following an extensive redesign. The reimagined space includes 32 alpine-inspired guestrooms as well as an intimate lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows that highlight the glacier views.
The property is situated at the base of the Athabasca Glacier, located approximately 1.5 hours from the mountain town of Jasper and 2.5 hours from Banff along the Icefield Parkway.
The lodge is open from June 1, 2019 through mid-October and all-inclusive packages start at $335 pp.
