With the U.S. Virgin Islands continuing to progress in post-hurricane recovery efforts, more demand for flights to the islands has led to three major airlines increasing flight service to St. Thomas.
Starting March 10, 2018, Spirit Airlines will increase its Fort Lauderdale to St. Thomas offerings to include daily flight service. Delta Air Lines, after seeing strong booking on the Atlanta to St. Thomas route, will reinstates its daily service from New York to the island, effective May 24, 2018. On Feb. 15, 2018, JetBlue will begin operating a second daily flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico to St. Thomas. Between Feb. 15 and May 1, 2018, JetBlue will also offer daily flight options between Boston and St. Thomas.
With the addition of these flights, the U.S. Virgin Islands will be served by approximately 13,000 seats per week—9,000 to St. Thomas and 4,000 to St. Croix (not including intra-island service).
