La Mirage Garden Hotel & Spa—a former hacienda perched on an Andean hillside less than three hours outside of Quito, Ecuador—is offering its guests a taste of Ecuador through onsite cooking classes. Over the years, guests asked for La Mirage to open a cooking school so that they could learn how to prepare some of the dishes sampled during their visit, which are described as a combination of traditional Ecuadorian dishes with a continental touch. In response to their requests, the hotel is now offering a 3-day Ecuadorian cooking school package for its guests, featuring two 3-hour hands-on cooking classes supervised and instructed by a professional team of chefs, an apron and cooking utensils, and a certificate of participation at the end of the class, plus daily American breakfast served at the onsite Colibri Garden restaurant, two lunches served with a glass of wine and a 3-course gourmet dinner daily.
