Disney Cruise Line has postponed the debut of its newest ship, the Disney Adventure, moving the inaugural sailing to March 10, 2026. Originally scheduled to launch in late 2025, the Adventure will require additional time for completion. All sailings between Dec. 15, 2025, and Mar. 9, 2026, have been cancelled.
According to Cruise Industry News, Disney Cruise Line acknowledged the high anticipation surrounding the ship, noting in a statement to guests: “We know many guests and travel advisors have been eagerly anticipating the debut of the new Disney Adventure. This ship represents a bold new chapter for Disney Cruise Line, as we transform a partially built vessel into a fully reimagined Disney experience at sea.
“As we bring this to life, we’ve encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process. To ensure every detail meets the high standards our clients expect from Disney, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage to March 10, 2026.”
Guest Compensation
Guests booked on the cancelled sailings are being offered a full refund, along with a 50 percent discount to apply toward a future cruise departing on or before March 31, 2027.
Those originally booked on the maiden voyage will be automatically rebooked on the new inaugural sailing from Singapore at a reduced fare. If unable to travel, they may request a full refund and still retain the 50 percent future cruise credit.
Disney Adventure
The Disney Adventure was first envisioned as the Global Dream, a ship left unfinished before being acquired by Disney Cruise Line. At 208,000 gross tons, it will be the largest ship in Disney’s fleet and is designed to carry up to 6,000 guests.
Homeported year-round in Singapore, the vessel will operate short 3- and 4-night cruises aimed at the growing Asian market. Onboard experiences are expected to include Marvel-themed attractions such as an Iron Man roller coaster, along with immersive family offerings like the Royal Society for Friendship and Tea, a Disney Princess-themed tea party.
The ship recently completed its first set of sea trials in Germany, marking progress toward its new 2026 debut.
