Travelers can now apply for a Tourist Visa on Arrival (TVoA) by the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for travel to India.

The new TVoA allows travelers visiting India for recreation, sightseeing, short-term medical treatment, casual business, or to visit family and friends, entry into India within 30 days from the date of approval. TVoA is valid for a 30-day stay in India from the date of arrival. Travelers can enter and depart from any of the nine airports—via Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Chhatrapati Shivaji, and Trivandrum. Foreigners from designated countries traveling with a valid passport for a minimum of six months are eligible; those traveling with a Diplomatic, Official, Special, or Service passports are not eligible for a TVoA. Travelers can apply for a TVoA online; applications must be submitted at least four days before travel and a maximum of 30 days from the proposed date of travel. A front-facing photo must also be uploaded when applying, and a $60 fee pp must be paid online. Travelers will be notified via e-mail on the decision of their TVoA application.
