Avanti Destinations has launched a new “Inspiration” campaign designed to give travel advisors a way to re-engage with independent travel clients via downloadable e-brochures or future travel lookbooks. Partnering with Avanti on the first lookbook is the Japan National Tourism Organization [JNTO].

The jointly-produced lookbooks are intended to highlight not only the best-known places in each country, but also many off-the-beaten-path destinations, ideally suited to clients looking to avoid crowds once international travel resumes.

The Japan future travel lookbook, plus two full length e-brochures on Japan, can be found on Avanti’s agent portal, you can view them here: book.avantidestinations.com/home.

Avanti sells customized itineraries in Asia, Europe, Central and South America for independent travelers and groups, exclusivelythrough travel advisors.

“We want to help travel advisors remind their clients why we all love to travel,” explained Avanti’s CEO, Paul Barry in press material. “It may be too early to start selling, but advisors can pass along these highly visual look-books to inspire their clients to daydream about all the places they might want to visit after airlines resume full international service and governments around the world establish non-quarantine procedures for international travelers.

“Tourist offices are eager, too, to remind travelers and travel advisors about all that their countries offer, especially for independent travelers interested in going beyond the most popular destinations, something we strongly encourage. We are very pleased to be partnering with the Japan National Tourism Organizationon the first future travel lookbook.  Collaborations with other tourist offices are also in the works,” added Barry.

“Our lookbooks are long on photos, short on descriptions—good motivation to do a little online research on the places that visually appeal to you”, noted Barry in press materials. “Many of those are places ideally suited for social distancing—out in the countryside. And on most of our Asian custom itineraries, clients have private local guides and private transfers.”

The Japan e-brochure highlights not only Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, but also areas less traveled by American tourists: Hakone, known for its hot springs and views of Mt Fuji; Setouchi, the region of the Inland Sea with an outdoors modern art museum and the picturesque Edo-era Bikan historical quarter of canals (near Hiroshima); the Japanese Alps with their snow monkeys; and three of the country’s most famous gardens.
