A lot of change is underway at private island getaway Kamalame Cay in the Bahamas, with the addition of three new villas, a new beach and a bar.
The 1,600-sq.-ft., 2-bedroom Rose Apple villa was completed in August, offering guests direct beach access. The 4-bedroom, 3,800-sq.-ft. Magnolia villa is set to be completed next month, featuring a Great Room and verandah facing the ocean. The third villa, opening early-2014, is a 2-bedroom wooden bungalow called Blue Winged Teal that will be built on stilts and span 1,480 sq. ft.
Kamalame Cay is also adding West Beach to the back part of the island, as well as the new Blue Marlin Bar with full grill and the Kamalame Nursery, which will grow herbs, greens and free-range chickens and eggs for the resort.
The island also features the Overwater Spa at Kamalame with five treatment rooms, and activities such as diving, sea kayaking, deep sea fishing and tennis.
