Thompson Zihuatanejo – the third property in Mexico from luxury lifestyle brand, Thompson Hotels – has reopened with new safety protocols, an all-inclusive meal package and a new executive chef.
The resort’s Meal Plan offer includes access to themed food nights, one beachfront cooking class to be booked on arrival, one $50 spa credit per room, and mini bar snacks and beverages restocked daily. Prices will vary seasonally.
Thompson Zihuatanejo’s restaurant HAO is located steps from the beach and serves seasonal Pacific-to-palapa cuisine inspired by harvests from the resort’s own garden. New executive chef Bernardo Cabrera brings a decade of culinary experience drawing on his time at leading resorts in Turks and Caicos, Vietnam, and Mexico. During the day, HAO hosts tequila or mezcal and ceviche tasting, as well as hands-on, chef-driven cooking classes.
The property is reopening under the brand’s new Global Care and Cleanliness Commitment, which will ensure a safe environment for guests and staff. Guests will receive complimentary disinfectant kits upon arrival, along with a temperature check, disinfection of shoes with special mats, and personal safety kits including protective masks, glasses, hand sanitizer, and more. Social distancing regulations and a reduction of capacity will be effective throughout the property. Thompson Zihuatanejo will also use the Curant app for its guest amenities. This mobile service platform will offer single-touch access to room service, poolside/beachside ordering, and other on-property amenities including on-demand communication with the resort’s concierge and operations teams.
All guest rooms and suites include distinct living areas and private balconies or terraces, and most include private infinity plunge pools. Two-bedroom suites include the Thompson Suite, boasting its own outdoor entertaining area with a wet bar, as well as two Beach Suites with views over the bay and private plunge pools. The property also offers 11 Swim-Up Suites, featuring their own outdoor rain shower and terrace, as well as access to a shared, private pool.
