Posadas Plans Phygital Guest Experiences

Posadas is rolling out its plans for Phygital Experiences across its portfolio of 180+ hotels. The program integrates digital benefits into the guest experience to provide enhanced safety in the COVID-19 era and beyond, and includes contactless solutions that reduce physical interaction.

“Posadas has been diligently working on these merged physical and digital enhancements even before the pandemic,” explains Enrique Calderon, COO of the company, in a press release statement. “COVID-19 fast-tracked these initiatives as we pivot to a travel experience that must have fewer physical interactions and incorporate contactless technology for the safety of guests.”

The new Phygital Experiences will be incorporated at all Posadas properties over the next year, and include innovations such as contactless check-in via the Fiesta Rewards mobile application, which will allow guests to check-in prior to arrival. Currently, Posadas has 100 properties already integrating this technology. The Fiesta Rewards mobile application will also allow guests to make requests for housekeeping, in-room dining, amenities, review entertainment schedules and more.

Other new Phygital Experiences include a Digital Concierge that can attend to guests’ needs via their mobile phones, as well as digital menus at restaurants to assure more hygienic practices. Guests will be able to scan a QR code placed on the tables to access the menus.

New in-room technology will also be rolled out using Procentric, MyStay TV and Guest Cast, which allows guests to make service requests, order products, review their accounts, enjoy more entertainment options, request an express check-out, and more.

Posadas is also set to roll out wearables, which are sophisticated bracelet devices that transform the guest experience by providing more personalized attention. Features of wearables include serving as a contactless room key and form of payment.

All of these Phygital Experiences ensure a more efficient and sustainable operation at the hotels, and complement the company’s Travel with Confidence program, a series of elevated safety, hygiene and flexibility protocols created in collaboration with the ABC Medical Center.
