With this year marking its 90th anniversary of the first hotel concierge ever debuted in 1929, resorts around the world are rolling out unusual concierge programs.

3. Instagram Concierge in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico

W Punta de Mita, a chic beach resort located on one of Mexico’s best surf breaks, is helping guests step up their selfie game with a brand-new Instagram Concierge program. The resort’s bright, bold, colorful decor inspired by indigenous influences and the area’s local surf culture offers the perfect backdrop for souvenir-worthy photos that will make your clients’ friends back home jealous. Here’s how it works: Guests e-mail a link to their Instagram  profile to the concierge before or during their stay to receive an infographic map marked with the most Instagram-able spots on property. Based on their interests and aesthetic, the Instagram Concierge recommends several spots on the map where guests should snap pics. The experience ends with a cocktail at the resort’s Living Room bar—the guest just needs to show the infographic map to redeem it. marriott.com/hotels/travel/pvrwh-w-punta-de-mita

2. Wellness Concierge in Saint Lucia

Arguably one of the most breathtakingly beautiful resorts in the Caribbean, Jade Mountain is known for its 3-walled, oversized guest Sanctuaries that feature sweeping views of the twin Pitons & Caribbean Sea, private en-suite infinity pools, and 24/7 butler service (you can even watch shooting stars from your bed there at night!). Designed to help guests reconnect with nature and kick-start their spiritual journey, the property recently launched a Wellness Concierge program led by their very own wellness uru Nelson Chako. Born in the southern part of India, Nelson has been studying yoga and Ayurvedic healing since childhood, and has completed yoga courses with a Subramanian Master. Guests who arrange an appointment with Nelson start by taking a Dosha quiz that gives a breakdown of their Ayurvedic mind-body type. Based on whether they’re vata, pitta, or kapha, Nelson will work with the guest to recommend nutrition plans, yoga stretches, and Ayurvedic spa treatments (which are offered at the resort), as well as how to incorporate healthy practices into daily life back home. jademountain.com
